Goalie Development
Open to all goalie levels and those who want to try out the position! The one-hour practice will focus on goalie-specific drills and shots on net to build muscle memory and refine technique.
- Fundamentals and Technique: Coaches emphasize the basics, including proper stance, movement efficiency, positioning, and save selection.
- Skating and Mobility: Goalies work on edge work, lateral movement, butterfly technique, pivot rotations, and recovery from saves.
- Game Situations: Drills progress from basic fundamentals to realistic scenarios like angle shots, rebound control, dealing with screens and traffic, wrap-arounds, and breakaways.
- Puck Handling: Goalies will receive instruction and practice on stopping the puck behind the net, passing, and general stickhandling to initiate breakouts and relieve pressure.
