Learn To Skate

Give it a shot!

Have your child try our 2 session learn to skate program!

This will occur at our brand new arena!

West Salem Panther Den

Wednesday, November 6th ~ 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Saturday, November 9th ~ 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.

The Learn to Skate program is designed to teach children the fundamental progression of standing to skating forward and backwards and executing turns. All skating instructors are certified through USA Hockey and will have assistance from High School and youth players.

Your two (2) session Learn to Skate program through the West Salem Hockey Association is FREE to all participants! A limited amount of skates and helmets will be available for children that don't have their own (bike helmets work great!). Registration is required of all participants; all participants will receive a gift at the conclusion of the program.

Information and representatives from the hockey association will be available during all two (2) sessions; information will be provided on area ice skating programs that include West Salem Hockey Association’s FREE transition to hockey program.

Please register for an account on this website and then register your skater for Learn to Skate/Try It Days.  Please email [email protected] with any questions.

If your child enjoys our two (2) day session of Learn to Skate and would like to continue learning how to skate or would like to join the West Salem Hockey Association Transition Program we will direct you further at that time.

All first year skaters with the West Salem Hockey Association skate for FREE!

The Learn to Skate program is made possible by generous donations from our local community sponsors.
100% of expenses are covered through the fundraising efforts of the West Salem Hockey Association.
